Hi,We have bought ourselves a run down finca in Roquetas.What we would like to ask is,when we bought the property in August 2006 we paid the the local taxes due to BASE in Tortosa and to Roquetas office.Since then we haven't been over to pay 2007/2008 's payments...1) What is the penalty for late payment ?..2) How can we make 2 years payments from the UK with very limited Spanish/Catalan written skills ?Any advice/help would be appreciated...thanks.....Hen_Fox

Firstly,I wouldn't worry too much about late payments.We were 6 mths overdue with ours and got taken to the cleaners for a massive 4 euro fine,how these people sleep at night is a mystery....
As for dealings and payments from the UK I can't help,there must be something that could be set up.There are a couple of people at BASE who speak limited Spanglish and it's no big deal if you are prepared to wander from BASE to bank and back again,several times.Make sure you have ALL your paperwork.
