Title: Warning - Stolen UK Registered Car Post by mikedenise on Jun 16th, 2008 at 7:52pm
Hello All
Unfortunately my UK Registered Call was stolen from my property in the hills outside Campredo :'( The thieves broke the back window and all that was left was an empty parking space when I returned. The vehicle was worth very little so I am surprised anyone bothered to steal it (perhaps the half tank of petrol was what they were after) If anyone sees it please send me a PM Vehicle - 1991 Suzuki SJ413 LWB White J510OND Has anybody else experienced a car being stolen and what security measures do the members of the community use to keep their property safe |

Big and ferocious dogs are a deterrent!
Have you informed the local "Mossos" police. guardia civil and DVL in case it used for other clandestine "help yourself" ventures. I don't think they would have realized there was half a tank of petrol until they had hot wired it. I have heard police say whenever there are any buglaries, they just stop the white vans heading for the French boarders and unfortunately it is the Expats robbing the Expats and they are not all English. The Catalonians are brought up to respect their neighbours properties. Ask them if they have seen anyone about. I can't yet send PM so send me your email. I will put the word out there! |

Hi. Just a thought, your old Suzuki on the scrap metal weighbridge would return about 200 euro at the moment, the price of scrap metal at present is sky high. Very easy pickings for some ner-do well likely
lads. Not suggesting your motor was anything like scrap, but that wouldn't bother the tea leaf. Something else to watch out for at the moment with the price of fuel the way it is, if you leave a vehicle isolated for any length of time, when you return someone has stabbed a screwdriver through the bottom of your tank and nicked your fuel, most tanks are plastic these days and very easy to pierce. Nick. |
