Title: Good Night "Vienna" Post by hazelnut on Nov 30th, 2008 at 11:05am
Went to the Vienna sandwich bar last night, very impressive building, and is smells better than a fish market, which the old building used to be!
It was bright cheery and warm the restoration of the building tastefully done! The food was a cross between Subway Mc Donalds and Burger King, I let you draw your own conclusions from that !, a Restaurant it is not, its queue up self service, but the food was OK for that type of place. They do serve Beer and wine, beer served in pot tankards very Viennese It was a good meal though some things tastier than others served in paper and cardboard a la Mc Donalds The sweets are all tubs of ice cream sorbet or Sarah Lee chocolate cake or deli cakes Two can eat for about €20 including drinks and postre Now the really good thing about the place, the chain has taught the Staff, the meaning of the word SERVICE!! You actually get attention and a warm welcome, the staff don't stand chatting to themselves instead of serving you the paying customer, as you would expect from a fast food place you get served quickly and efficiently, I was taken aback, I am not used to being served quickly in Spain Would I go again? possibly if I needed a quick meal and I was in a rush Or I had children to feed. I think the Kebab houses though a bit scruffy around the edges serve better tastier food. The surprise was that it was absolutely packed, and at 7:30 and not just with parents taking young children, but there were oldies in there as well!! Building and Decor 10 out of 10 Service and Politeness 10 out of 10 Food and drink 6 out of 10 Well its different, its not a rip off, its fast food as you know it, but generally good But I still can't get over being served and seen as a customer not a hindrance!! |
