Title: Catalan Parking Post by hazelnut on Apr 11th, 2009 at 8:07pm
Is it mee? or has anyone else notice how close catalans like to park near to the supermarket ? Ignoring all the white cross hatching and no parking zones they get their cars as close as they can to the entrance , and once inside they are an even worse manace, anyone come across an aisle with a trolley diagonal across it making it impossible to pass, they drive their trolleys like they park their cars, No Fing Idea
I'm just waiting to find a car parked on the pavement so thay can get even closer Mind you what really Pixxes me off is when you find an unaccompanied trolley at the check outs in front of you!! You move up to join the queue and then someone appears with goods they forgot to get going round the store to the trolley in front of you, even the english are now doing it in Lidls the next one I see will be shoved out of the way Is it mee or does anyone else get annoyed with this? |

Calm down. Take some deep breaths and then check your blood pressure. What's the rush? Just go with the flow. I thought you were a courteous gentleman - shoving a trolley out of the queue, surely is not your style? Catalonians and English DO park on the pavements as the norm. What amuses me is when they park on Corona's roundabout in a traffic lane, put their flashes on and wait for someone and read their paper. |

Hi Pondgirl
Yes I am sure I am cut out for the laid back lifestyle, I just don't like inconsiderate people who are too lazy or to pig ignorant to worry about anyone else but themselves If we all did the same you would find no disabled parking spots for those people who really need them I don't like people who take advantage of slack laws and parking enforcement, and even less those cheeky bastxxds who block of a till and do their shopping as they might do in a village store I take a chill pill daily but some people still get on my wick G.O.M. |

I know this story below is on a different continent but it truly happened to my friend last week for being "inconsiderate!"
A teacher in SA in the small country town north of Pretoria. She was caught up in a traffic jam on her way to teach due to roadworks. This was the only road she could take to reach her destination. She was becoming very frustrated and heated, when some cheeky sod comes zooming up from behind and tries to push in in front of her. She accelerated forward 0-200kms and blocked him (oh yes it was a male driver). Next minute he jumps out of his car and comes storming towards her ranting and raging.Pushes his head through her open car window and pushed a gun into her face. She froze! Next minute he is janked backwards out of her face. There was a plain clothes policeman in the unmarked car behind her. He threw the offending guy into the back of his car and she sighed with relief. She thought the saga was over. Oh no.The policeman comes back and starts rollicking her for being an inconsiderate driver. This was all her fault! She could have avoided the whole incident by being more considerate. She was gob smacked.... A warning to us all: be careful how you behave to other vehicle & trolley users or Grandpa on his scooter with grandma sat side saddle with her box of tomatoes and 2 hens around her neck and helmetless! |

Hi Stuart
This time I will agree with you. There is nothing more annoying with a disabled wife than finding the disabled bays outside the supermarket blocked with cars driven by young agile persons, or those in the High Street occupied by someone who has put their flashers on whilst they carry on their business in the High Street. Today whilst in St Carles I had my indicators going to show that I intended crossing the road to park in a disabled spot when a couple of young able chaps in a van came down from the other direction, and although they saw me indicating proceeded to pull into the bay although there was nothing wrong with them. It is just bloody inconsiderate. |

I've seen it all now !!
I was waiting at the traffic lights at the Corona roundabout when an old giffer, yes I mean older than me in one of those Aixam micro cars went right round the roundabout of course without indicating and in the outside lane at about 5 miles per hour then mounted the kerb outside the entrance to the Corona Hotel and parked in front of the main glass doors!! It must have been on old folks lunch or something but the old geezer couldn't have got closer to the doors if he tried!! What do the pedestrians make of it all I wonder? G.O.M. |
