Taro Aso, the Japanese prime minister, has arrived in Beijing at the start of a two-day official visit aimed at stepping up cooperation to tackle the global economic crisis. Aso's visit, his first since taking office last September, follows recent flare-ups in relations between the two Asian neighbours, although both sides have said they are hoping the visit will help clear the air over some long-standing disputes.

Now I am sitting in my little casa at the top of a mountain in Bitem worrying about Mr Aso and Beijings disputes. Oh woe is me :(
