AROUND 10,000 condoms will be handed out on Friday night by Lleida council. Anyone celebrating the New Year in the Catalunya city's bars and nightspots will receive along with the usual bag of hats, whistles and 12 grapes ...

Just as subsidies for childbirth go out - free condoms are introduced. File that one in irony corner then!!! ;D
