You and the missus will have to share a bath in the kitchen sink. It will be just like in the 1970's ;)

Hi Ian is it a new install ? have you got enough head height (is tank higher than shower outlet) or is it a electric shower ?

It's a new install but working off a normal pump and pressure control.Will clean out the filter tomorrow as I think there may be some plastic burring still in the pipes from installation.

Episode 2.....
Couldn't find the filter....so took off the heat exchanger and poured vinegar in,left for 3 - 4 hours and drained.Blew out some residue,gagged on the fumes for a moment or two and tightened everything up...so far so good. Episode 3 will no doubt be along shortly. |

I had a similar problem, where I had tightened a pipe it had kinked but looked ok when dismantled. When re-assembled and under pressure from the pump it twisted and restricted the water flow, stopping the boiler from igniting. So after a week of trying everything you have tried, we just had to replace one 20cm piece of pipe and all has worked fine since.

Episode 4...Managed to sweet talk a guest into sorting it out,sort of.We dismantled all the end hoses and then blanked each one of separately to see if there was a restriction.That didn't seem to provide any answers nor cures,checked the diaphram,then decided to do that most heinius of crimes,read the instruction book.Absolutely clueless,so in a final act of desperation he pressed the reset button. BINGO.

Have you got it working yet? If not;
I'm assuming water comes out of the shower from the hot tap but the boiler isn't firing up - is this correct? 1. Have you cleaned the filter in the boiler? 2. If you run the shower and a hot tap at the same time does the boiler fires up and hot water comes out of the shower? 3. If 2 works then it sounds like the pump isn't producing enough pressure or there is a blockage in the boiler. Is there much difference in pressure (flow rate) between hot and cold water? 4. Try the shower tap 'upside down' - do you get hot water? |
