You need to work out how many Kg/hr of gas each appliance uses and make sure the regulator is not being over loaded as it can only supply X Kg/hr.  If you overload it then the individual appliances will not function correctly.

If you want to work with a manifold then it's better to connect a couple or more bottles to it, particularly if using a water heater as this has high peak demand.
