Can I opena bank account in catalonia from abroad ? Im based in holland and need to get one opened quick
can info greatly appreciated

Rules and regulations have changed.
You need to go to the bank in person and show I.D.
prove where you live etc. etc.
All to do with money laundering?

erm... but I dont actually live there but Im buying a property so how can I prove Im living there
i wont have the deeds untill I sign for them and I cant sign for them untill I have a bank account and ....oh Im getting dizzy here ... but you get my drift ..

You can open a bank account here, as a NON resident.
You will have to go in person, with N.I.E, and passport.

hi :),i dont think you can open a spanish bank account unless you are here in spain to open it in person,if you are buying through an estate agent then thay will tell you what to do other than that things keep changing here in spain even the local spanish dont know how to do things anymore ::) sorry

Not too difficult
Choose a bank
Take your passport with you and open a non-resident account
Apply for NIE. Can be done for you by solicitor, Abogados. You do not need to be present
You will need NIE for purchase

Hi Robo,

You could call the ABNAMRO in Holland. They have offices in both Holland and Catalunya so maybe it's possible to open a Spanish account in Holland. But even if they can, I think Ryanair and opening an account locally will be faster and cheaper.

We solitary souls have to search over mountain and dale to find a kindred spirit. But l draw the line at a double act. My dearly beloved, Wilma, nearly fell off her chair when she found sensible comments allegedly made by me!! :o
The very nerve of David to think he can come on here and try and impersonate me, is beyond the pail! l will take this to the highest mountain in the land to get justice. I will not be his Goliath!! >:(
