That's his pension, with just two months to go, fecked then.  He must feel that he has a strong case to have risked so much.  I hope if nothing else C4 stand by him.

Wow :-? i cannot imagine what that would be like, working 26 years for a company and to lose your pension and job for speaking out, and with only  a few months left to work !!! I thought he chose what to say very carefully, and certainly did not appear  a bullshitter, keeping very much to the facts, O leary is  defiantly the "cheap airline" Dictator
maybe we should start a petition ?

Starting a petition to Ryanair would be like knocking your head against a brick wall though, especially as they are suing C4.  I just hope for the pilot's sake that he got his facts right and that C4 did too.

Lots of reading on the subject here if anyone's interested:

http://www.ryanair.com/en/news/ryanair-releases-channel-4-dispatches-letters

As far as the sacked pilot is concerned, if he knew that Ryanair were totally refuting the claims made in Dispatches, and they say they wrote to him about it, but he still went ahead and made damaging and defamatory comments about his employers, he shouldn't be surprised if he gets sacked.  If his comments on the programme can be substantiated presumably he will be able to claim for unfair dismissal and receive full pension rights?

Ok ok I ll give him some slack !!!!!!! ;D but there not the cheapest, as I proved earlier this year, remember ! but there a damm site cheaper than driving down @ £600+ in fuel + ferry costs ( i would love to drive down again, in better weather though :-?)
I did,nt realize that the pilot had been warned ? did anyone who watched ?
The pilot did either a very stupid move to speak out,or he feels very, very strongly that there are very serious failings in his company :-? and as far as I know pilots, are not usually the type to make un calculated mistakes/risks, especially when he had so much at stake !
Thanks Pondgirl for your updates,
and sorry if my grammar is poor, I've  just woke up from doing a night shift, can you all remember that, having to go out to Work,oh  you lucky people down there in the sun, hurricane winds and rain ;D
opps !!! have I just started another rant !
All in the best Possible taste
Phil
and Ian I,m back over in forty-sum days and counting ;) only for 3 weeks though boooooooooooooo

Makes you think...if these 3 'alleged' pilots were 'long standing', there couldn't have been much wrong with Ryanairs policies etc etc. No self respecting, intelligent pilot would work for a Mickey mouse outfit for very long.

On the other hand,by calling Mayday at least they got to land first......

Ok folks, can any of you recall a cheaper fare than this.My son booked a few years back,a return flight to Reus with Ryanair (I believe it may have been from Bristol) for just 2 pence!!!!!!    [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Does that include the taxes. We've done it for free, once,in the early day but paid the taxes.

We actually booked a flight from Reus to Stansted one January 2 or 3 years back for totally FREE, no taxes, nothing, and in the end because of bad snow conditions in England we decided not to fly.  Shame

"Ryanair claimed that Horne had two extra pieces of hand luggage as well as his carry-on bag, calling its 10kg allowance “generous”. "
I was standing behind a young woman waiting to board a Ryanair flight from Birmingham.  She was carrying three bags and I quietly pointed out to her that she would only be allowed to board with one.  She didn't believe me and then caused a commotion when told the same by Ryanair staff  ::)

I've seen people getting onto RA flights with Duty Free bags as well as a carry on bag.  There are even notices in the DF shop at Reus saying that it is allowed.

you are allowed to take a duty free bag on board if the items are from the duty free shop at reus and are carryed in a duty free bag bought at the same time .

they said they would comply with Irish law rather than Spanish law; I thought the interesting part of the article was RAs bid to internationize "Irish law"  The airport might be in Spain but they should get into line with Irish law ;D

Title: Re: Ryanair to sue.
Post by Pondgirl on Aug 18th, 2013 at 8:29am
Well whether they said it or not they are complying as they do allow people to take duty free bags on board in addition to their one carry on bag.

But think of the massive headline the DM missed here.
Ryanair demands that Irish Law be implemented in Spain ( No plans to extend to UK at this time, Ryanair spokesman).  ;D

So the son has finally today booked his return trip Bristol/Reus for 4th to 11th September with Ryanair for £38.98 inc taxes, hand luggage only.  The same flight with Easyjet Bristol/Barcelona is £100.98 and a total of two hours extra travelling and toll/fuel costs, which probably adds up to an extra €100.  No competition really

Only problem this winter is that they're not flying all the airports, for me Stanstead is the only one that will get me to the midlands. But still better than going to Barcelona.!!
