Title: Goats
Post by Johnone on Apr 28th, 2014 at 11:53am
I have recently moved to the Campo and was considering getting a goat to help keep the land clear. Have any of you done this or have advise on keeping goats? Where can I get one and is it best to get a young goat to start with?

Hi
I had similar thoughts last year. I had kept them in the UK for years. Here I wanted goats to clean under trees in the woods. Went through a long process to get registered then got a variety of goats and now don't have any.  There is more to it than that and I have electric fencing kit I could sell you. Let me know if you want the details.
Good Luck!

I had one a few years ago to keep the weeds down. No interest in weeds at all but the veggie patch got a hammering. Now gone. It is rumoured they will eat anything - maybe if they are starving but preference is fresh tender vegetables and salad over any sort of weed.
