I've been given the above (3 years old and have receipts) as it "just stopped" according to the previous owner. Are there any retired TV engineers out there that do an occasional repair job?

Hi Ivan, couple of things to consider if you do not have any offers to repair your tv. If the tv was purchased in the uk and you say you have all the receipts you are protected under consumer law which lasts for 6 years.... so take it back to the shop or direct to manufacturers , get a courier if in Spain, ups or tnt , if you follow all the right procedures you will get a new tv .

A quick diagnosis:
If it is totally dead it will be the PSU (if you are really lucky then just an internal fuse). If there is some life (power light but no response) it is either the psu or the main board. If there is sound but no picture then it is the inverter board. Spares are generally available for most makes/models. I do repairs when it is economically viable. Nigel |

Nigel has fixed our tv twice now. He did a brilliant job, cheaper than a new tv!

There is a nice bloke at Fabden who does TV repairs in Tortosa:
13 Carrer del Bisbe Aznar It's the road between Rieres Estate Agent and the Gun Shop. The only snag is that since the council put crenulations on the pavement you can't just pull up outside. (He's not very happy about it!) |

Thanks for all these suggestions from you Forumistas! Hole Nigel - Que 'tall? I have passed the TV on to a man with some kids who are in dire need of UK TV! Appreciate all the comments.
