Title: Best way to transfer funds from UK to Spain?

Hi, I'm sure someone out there has experience with transferring large amounts of cash from UK to Spain.
What is the best way of doing this in order to get the best exchange rate and least bank charges?
The money is currently in an ISA and needs to be in my Spanish current account.

Hi, We have used a company called Currency Solutions several times and have always found them very good with good exchange rates.

I've transferred load with them, never had a problem and fast!

Last transaction I did was started at 8am and the money was in my account by 5pm - that involved a transfer of sterling to them, them doing the exchange and a transfer from them to my Spanish account - I was astounded at the speed it all went through. None of the transfers were special paid for express, just normal on-line banking transfers.

Only wish I'd don't it a few weeks ago when the rate was 1.40's

We use TorFX and find James Ho works there extremely helpful and great rates too.

The best and cheapest is travel-wise but only for say 400/500 pounds That will cost you a Euro or two. However for large amounts you can not beat HFX for good rates and a professional service. You have a personal broker who will deal with you throughout the transaction (s) go to their website below and join for free. The fees when we used them was inbuilt into the rate. We used them when we bought our house and other funds were transferred from under the bed in the UK to our underground safe here in Spain.We found their service first class.

Founders of travel wise has just had their legs slapped for their adverts. IMO they are still the best for small amounts.
