Title: New Roundabout N340 El Perello Post by PlanesPete on Dec 6th, 2015 at 10:59pm
I understand this is the first of maybe 11 to be constructed on this dangerous road to slow the traffic and give better access on and off.
It was built in less than 3 weeks on a (the) major trunk road here. Disruption was minimal with a few tailbacks this last week for the unavoidable stuff. In Harlow, Essex, they have recently finished a minor remodeling of a roundabout on the A414, a reasonably busy road and it took 15 months with a lot of disruption. So much for Manana. It seems the Brits could learn something about getting on with a job! |

I also notice here they can throw a mile of tarmac overnight and have it all white lined meanwhile in the UK they have to give it a couple of weeks before they start (Morning rush hour) whilst they give it " A coat of looking at " ::) ::) ::)
Nothing to do with roads just liked the pic. 8-) ![]() |

I also note that having finished laying said mile of tarmac here it remains smooth and flat for years despite massive trucks thundering over it - and it being exposed to extreme ambient temperatures - as opposed to the equivalent veritable roller coaster ride in the UK.

Yes but no ice - expanding and contracting - kills roads!

What is a pothole? (UK)
A pothole is where the surface of the road has been eroded and a hollow has formed. Potholes can also appear on pavements. What causes a pothole? Roads everywhere are particularly vulnerable during winter’s freezing conditions. If there is even a small crack in the road water will enter, and the freeze/ thaw cycle eventually causes the surface to break open. With vehicles crossing over it repeatedly a pothole is born, which is why our busy roads are more at risk. :o ![]() |

Diesel spillage or leaking engines when the vehicle is stopped as in a traffic jam is the cause of most potholes on roads , diesel is a solvent on tarmac

Perhaps these tarmac layers could be pointed in the direction of Tres Cales at some stage as the roads there have more pot holes than road .......they are a right disgrace ! >:(
