Title: HIFE bus Post by Draconill on Dec 7th, 2015 at 2:43pm
I am planning to catch the hife bus at 2130 hours from Barcelona airport. Can anyone confirm that there is a ticket office at the airport or that you can pay on the bus please.

It travels on the toll road, so only stops at L'Aldea, near the toll booths, or Tortosa bus station.

Yeh just had a look at there web site and looks like they have loads of routes didn't manage to get into there time table and price list though ? also wondered how do you get around, without a car once in the area ? I have always hired a car and have once driven down but good to know alternatives ,I've thought of leaving a push bike up a the shack, but the thought of the ride back up from Lidl with 10 litre of water and a weeks food shopping isn't realy going to happen :D
Thanks |

We paid 11 EUR from Tortosa to the barcelona airport! We bought a Hife card for 99 EUR. This is for 10 trips. You pay 1 or 2 eur extra for the special airport-bus that brings you into the airport (the last +/- 3 km). Nothing beats that price. We took the bus in Tortosa and in Aldea on a small parking we need to catch another bus, that was already waiting for us. A few km before the airport, we need to catch another bus. Within 2 seconds this bus arrived and brought us to the entrance hall of the airport. On the way back, we could easily find the bus at the airport. We showed our Hife card and paid about 1 or 2 eur for the "airport-bus". Also here we need to leave the "airport-bus" at some kms from the airport. We needed to wait about 15 minutes before the Hife bus arrived. We now know that this can happen, so don't worry when you need to wait. Then again a change at the small Aldea parking. The bus was already waiting for us. The bus arrived in time at the airport and also in time on the way back to Tortosa. Nothing beats that price! :) |

Hi folks
I plan to use the bus from L'Aldea to BCN airport but notice that it goes to Terminal 1. I see on Olijfje's comment that there is mention of another bus. Does this other bus take you from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 to catch the flight or is there a different method of transfer? Many thanks Simon |

There is another bus to take you from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2.

That sounds easy!
Thanks Rita. |

The Hife bus brings you to Terminal 1.
Every 4 minutes a free bus goes from Terminal 1 to 2 and v.v.. The distance between the 2 terminals is 4km. |

Just a question in relation to the HIFE Card, can you use the 10 journeys for 5 return journeys ie. parents + 3 kids return or is the ticket only valid for 1 person x 10 journeys.
Thanks. |

Yes, your family can use the card too. Maybe good to check wether the price for families is lower.
To go to the airport, we used the card, but needed to pay 2 eur extra, because of the special airport-bus. |

The train from L'Aldea is another option. You can get the express for about 12€ to Barcelona Sants and then another to the airport using a T10 is 1€ or if you book early you can get a Talgo for as little as 10€. The Renfe web site is easy to use to check times, prices, book and pay online.
The Talgo takes about 1hr 40 mins, with allocated seat. The express takes between 1hr 45 and 2hr 15. Very comfy. Over 60s can get a gold card for 6€ to get 40% discount on express. Parking is free and safe. Beats uk rail service hands down. |
