There is a new airport just north of Castellon being built and I believe due to be opened in 2006.  I just hope that Easyjet will fly there from Gatwick then it will save that trip to Stansted as we are only 20 minutes from Gatwick.
Does anyone have any more news about this?

Castellon Costa Azahar Airport, located in the area of Vilanova d'Alcolea, will have a 2,700 metres runway that can be extended to 4,000 metres and the installations will include 60,000 metres of parking, and a 9,000 square metres terminal to handle 2 million passengers a year.

The new airport will be connected to the A-7 motorway through a fast lane leading to the most important tourism centres in the north of Castellon province.

A motorway will connect Castellon city with the Airport, and the Cabanes-Oropesa highway will enable access to the "Dream World" future theme park

A Castellon court has placed a 'stop' order on part of the works for the new Castellón/ Costa de Azahar airport.

The order affects works that are being carried out on the Santa Barbara Mountain in Vilanova d'Alcolea, and are the result of a complaint lodged by an environmental lobby.

The decision came after it came to light that part of the works appeared to be being undertaken without the proper paperwork, and were affecting a cave known as the Avenc de Santa Barbara and its considerable population of bats.
