Title: Fish drags man to death!
Post by Nigel on May 11th, 2006 at 8:54pm
Reported on Sky News 10th May 2006

A Hungarian fisherman has drowned while trying to catch a 150lb catfish.

Gabor Komlosy was dragged into a river when he refused to let go of the line.

The 53-year-old's body was later pulled from the Szamos river still clinging to his rod.

The 4ft monster catfish was still hooked on the end. Police in Hungary believe he had been
yanked down the bank of the river by the fish.

It had then pulled him through the water until he hit his head on a rock and drowned.

A spokesman said: "When we pulled in his line, the fish was still stuck on the end."

Nigel mate i hate to tell you this but a 4 foot catfish weighs about 40lb .... a 150lb catfish would more likely be around 7feet in length. Look on my website there's a 152 right at the top of the page. I think the story might be a bit of a "fishermans tale" as most of it sounds complete rubbish. If the fish was still hooked and it was 150lb i reckon the bloke would have never been seen again .... still clinging to his rod  :D i like the story, got quite a bit of comedy value to it.

If you find anymore of these be sure to post them !
all the best,
Dan.

;D...could well be.. It was just something I found on the internet that I thought was interesting... I actually went fishing for the first time yesterday and caught a 'tiddler' - it was about 45lb and it was around 4 ft long. Unfortunately it was the only catch of the day...maybe next time I'll catch a 'real' fish  ;)

A fish is a fish mate. Good weight to start at, if you catch a 160 first try then everything else will seem tiny  ;D we've had 11 cats in 4 sessions but only a few over the 100 lb mark ... next one should be a biggun if numbers are anything to go by !  ;)
