Read Val and Terry's article and more here http://www.tortosaforum.com/experience.html

To Keith& Liz
We are glad that you are settled and happy in Spain, as many people are and we never suggested otherwise.
We think you have been very lucky and hope it stays that way.In publishing our comments, Nigel obviously believes in free speech and as long as we do not name any person libel problems will not arise.
We wrote our piece from our own experience and listening to the stories of other people none of whom would join us in suing the Agent concerned because they were too frightened. A story we did not tell was of the land we looked at to purchase.  Approx. 10 mins from Tortosa Centre in amongst orange groves was a lovely flat piece of land with almonds and oranges, it had a newly dug well and elecricity and the most beautiful stone building with arches and roses (a building to die for so they say) BUT we later found out that the English people selling same had applied for planning permission to renovate it and they were refused permission and were told that it was an almacen and that is all it ever would be! Now we know where to look there are many sites on the net which will give you details of Spanish Building Regulations and these have probably come about because of people like us who have had problems
In respect of our remarks about Health Care we were just giving the facts in answer to a query on the forum
and would agree that the Spanish Health Care System is great.
