Hi, Callum might just about manage to pick up Catalan and pursue his education. Amy will not. Sorry to be blunt but I really think that moving abroad with teenage children just isn't any good for children's education. The disruption is massive, the positive aspects minimal, the potential for aggravation huge and the consequences for their further education significant. I've seen this kind of scenario before and it usually ends in tears with everyone back in the UK with shattered dreams and a fair dose of resentment all around for all the wasted time and hopes. Not to mention the economic consequences of paying for two moves, buying/selling houses and most probably living on savings because you can't find work over here. Believe me, this could be the most expensive mistake you will make in your life. I realise this isn't the advice you wanted but I think Amy is right. Wait until they've left home before you move. It's your dream, not theirs. Whatever you choose, I hope it works out for you all. Regards, Snowhite |
