Not sure exactly how far he can reach but when he first emptied ours he came out and had a look where it was situated before he came up to empty.  He was just about able to reach that time and when he came again he had obtained an attachment to extend the hose.  I am sure that if you got in contact with him he would probably come out and have a look and advise you where to put the tank so that he could reach it.  Very amiable and helpful guy.
