It's running a little late - it has gone to press but you know what it's like!  It should be around in a week or so.

Yus, but seriously, the first paragraph of the first page says the producers want the paper to be used as a learning tool (etc) to those wanting to learn English (or words to that effect) and in that paragraph is an erroneous possessive apostrophe.   Why can't they properly proof read before printing it?

Hi Colin

It is a shame that you do not know the difference between a magazine and a newspaper. Also you can read the name of the publication, before you criticise any publication make sure you know which one you are talking about. The article you are talking about comes from the Ebro Valley News.

Reminds me of a Spanish joke that is doing the rounds....

Dos moros se encuentran por las Ramblas de Barcelona, y uno le dice al otro:
- ¿Cuánto dinero te has sacado hoy?.
Y el otro responde:
- 3 Euros.
¿Y qué has escrito en el cartel?. - pregunta el moro.
- Pues lo típico, "tengo mujer y dos hijos". ¿Y tú, cuánto te has sacado hoy?.
- 3.000 Euros.
El otro asombrado le pregunta:
¿Y qué has escrito en el cartel?.
El moro responde :
- "Me faltan 6 Euros para volverme a Marruecos".

For those of you who don't understand Spanish, here's a translation:

Two Moroccans meet in the Ramblas in Barcelona and one says to the other:
-How much money have you taken today?
The other responded:
- 3 euros
- And what have you written on your card? asked the Moroccan
- The typical, I have a wife and two children. And you, how much have you taken today?
- 3000 euros
The other, amazed, asked:
- And what have you written on your card?
The Morrocan responded:
- "I only need 6 euros more to get back to Morocco"

OK I got the wrong mag.  Excellent sarcasm though, well done.  I love it!

Apols to the mag/paper/whatever.....

The Olive Press magazine is now out!  Look out for a copy - distribution points are similar to those of Catalunya Life.  I picked mine up today from Clibegas in Jesus - don't go whizzing over there until tuesday though as they're closed for the weekend, and monday as well as it's a fiesta.

Nobs, I couldn t agree more.
Imagine how much money one could make each day, taking customers trollies back @ a Euro a go!
Hey, nows there s an idea!
On a serious note though. I gave a little girl some sweeties the other day. Her mother scoulded her, for not taking back money!
It saddens me, that these people beg for money. When most, although not all, are fit healthy adults, capable of earning a wage!
Yet the stores allow begging. Any ideas as to why?

No - neither are related - completely different people involved.

Hi All

I find the Olive press very informative, and it is full of useful stuff about the surrounding area, I missed the Catalunya Life apart from miss double barrel and her nature trail, and of course that stupid Ecobears,
The Olive press also gives a good listing of events.

Anyway it is better then the Ebro Valley News which is always late, and half the time has articles which are nothing to do with this area!

Hi All,
Good chance to mention (as hazelnut has brought the Ebro Valley News into the thread) that if anybody was going to try out the Cova Dels Adells walk on page 15 of this months Ebro Valley News, then under the 0'30" timing section you need to add after "Follow the path" the following----- "The path then bears to the right & winds its way up & bears left over a scree slope, before twisting right again upwards"
Sorry to anybody that may have gone astray at  the "Green Gate"

Thanks Nigel, with all the free publicity afforded to the olive press on this esteemed forum, I assumed there was a connection. I guess it falls under the 'community service' category...  ;)

Aah the old "trade exchange" as we used to call it.

I hear tell that when people start bartering, it is a sure sign the economy is bad....
I guess they have their work cut out for them and I wish them all the best. I myself responded to an ad in the mag this week!
