An old man died this afternoon when the caravan, in which he was living, caught fire on a campsite in Cambrils. The fire also affected another caravan and an attached wooden shed. The fire was reported to the Bomberos' at 15:43 and was at the La Corona camping on the camino de Mas Clariana, Cambrils.

He could have been sleeping, passed out or intoxicated by the smoke before dying from burns. Two teams of firemen arrived and were able to extinguish the fire in ten minutes. Inside one of the caravans, with British registration, the firemen found the charred remains of an old person, whose identity is unknown, however an employee of the campsite explained that the man was a season ticket holder and normally was there alone.
