Title: The Gas Main Cometh.....
Post by ColinB on Jan 25th, 2011 at 8:03pm
....close to us - but not too close; trees are being heavily pruned.   For how long can we expect local roads to be closed, diversions, etc?   Is it total mayhem or is it all bearable?   And I want only good news !!!

Hi. A friend of mine had the pipeline across a corner of his land, knocking down a couple of terrace walls and a gateway, he was given 1.700€ compensation and everything was put back as it was and more, they also improved his access road.
A little disruption for him but they were very obliging.
He got the compensation cheque months before they started.
Terry.

Could someone be so kind as to post some info re this gas main. ?  The reason I ask is that there's a huge black pipe being installed south of Santa Barbara and I've no idea what it's for.  Not affecting me.  Just interested.
