Title: warning 14 digit telephone numbers

Dont answer any calls with 14 digit numbers, once you answer the person making the call can access your phone and make calls using your number. You would not know anything about it till you have your bill. The number usually starts with 630

What is the source of this information? There are loads of hoaxes about all sorts of things, this sounds like one to me although I haven't been able to find any reference to it as either a hoax or scam.  I've never heard of any way of controlling a phone by calling it with a number, I've heard of many hoaxes though. Just check out http://www.hoax-slayer.com and you'll find loads of them.

Many companies such as Securitas Direct, Caja Madrid and other banks that have a central number call from numbers that you can't call back on, invariably long numbers that start with a 6. Next time I'm called I'll take note of the length and number.

Had a long number came on mobile a couple of weeks ago.
I am sure that it started with 630.
Tried to look the code up on internet and in the phone book, but didn't match another country! So deleted it.

This is not a hoax, as far as I know. Its best not to answer them.Apparently the calls can come from anywhere in the world to your number but originate in USA.I will try and find out more

I have just recieved 3 calls from a 14 digit number 63030604669551 which I didn't answer as I'd seen this message this morning, I have tried to look up the code and the fact that it had 14 digits via internet and drew a blank, so thanks Caraid for posting this alert.  It probably wouldn't have mattered to much as I'm pay as you go but still better to air on the side of caution  :)

If you read the posts on the whocallsme website you will find that the calls are from telemarketing (or similar) companies.  These companies want to hide their real number as they generally do not accept incoming calls.  I guess it's the equivalent of the US '555' area code that is used in films and doesn't exist.

I get calls from 1004 (Telefonica) and recently 1444, both telemarketing calls.

I'm sure it's nothing sinister. Any proof that it is???

I remember that the number was about 14 digits long and started with 630. Deleted it so can't check it now.
Hope if it was the hospital they will get back to me.
Thank-you.
