Title: Burning Licence 2011
Post by Ritaratbag on Oct 23rd, 2011 at 3:33pm
Does anyone know if the Town Halls have started issuing burning licences, for 2011, yet.
If not, any idea when they will be available please?

No, you cannot get one yet.  I went in to see the nice young lady at the ajuntament in Alfara de Carles last week and asked her if I could have a foc and she told me in no uncertain terms that I could not as it was too dry.  So we will have to wait until we have had a good downpour I suppose.

Did have some rain today in Alfara which put an end to the Mushroom Fiar.  Rather a shame that after months of dry weather we get some rain just when a fair is taking place.  Typical !!   :-?

They may not be giving out burning licences yet, but that hasn't stopped the farmers in the campo, the valley was full of fires this morning!! ::)

26th Feb 2012.

Please please check with your local Town hall as many of these fire licences as stated are being revoked
because of the lack of rain.

Just been up on the top road to check and lo and behold....3 nice bonfires. As a devout pyromaniac with a lot to burn I find this all very confusing.

Spoke to a fireman yesterday, and he said that all licences for the area have been revoked.

Had the Mossos on patrol over this way this morning - neither a fire, nor a plume of smoke in sight.

Town Halls are now issuing extended burning licences which will run until JUNE 2012.
But best to check for any restrictions before lighting your fire!

Burning licences run until the 14th June. If it's done right yoiu should have been asked for your phone number when you asked for the licence and this number is passed onto the Rurales. If the situation changes the Rurales send out a text informing you licences have been recinded for the following day and will send these messages til your licence expires or the restrictions end(like after the recent rains). The texts usually mention plan alfa(Pla alfa). Be cautious with your fires gang! You can still get a fine if you are ireesponsible even if you have a licence. As well as burning some ones livelihood to the ground.

Likewise.
Message received this morning, unlike last time when we didn't get a message.
After the dry spell, and big fire last week, I was surprised that they didn't ban all fires sooner.
