I run it as follows - co-axial 'out' of satellite to co-axial 'in' on recorder, then scart 'out' of recorder to scart 'in' on TV.  The set-up is in English on the LG recorder.  Then to record just press record button on the handset for the required length of time or set the timer. Hope this helps.
