Title: Bank Commission/Landing fee. Post by Smidge on Feb 8th, 2012 at 8:49pm
Hi All.
I am moving a sum of money to my bank (La Caixa) from abroad, they say this will cost me a commission/landing fee of 0.04% which is a significant amount. Does anybody know if this is normal practice? |

Hi Smidge. [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]
I also bank with La Caixa, and they charged me a hefty amount as well. I complained to the manager that it was not except able and i did receive a partial refund. Always worth querying charges, Im sure we Brits are easy meat. |

::) I transfer money using Foreign Currency Direct. There is no charge at either end (I also bank at La Caixa) I have one of the directors whom I always deal with - Daniel Wright- and I cannot fault their service or exchange rates. I have used them over many years to transfer large sums of money (well large to me anyway) to 3 different countries and have never had any problems. www.currencies.co.uk |

I've used Foreign Currency Direct several times as well - a guy called Tom Holian. Never had a problem and never paid any receiving fees.
