I wonder whether anyone could help with advice about registering a UK car in Spain?

I brought over my 2002 car just the other day into Spain. It's taxed and MOT'd in the UK until end July. The green card insuring it on my UK policy runs out mid-July - only 2 weeks away.

I have an NIE, and have got an empadroniamiento from the local Ajuntament.

I have a few questions:-

1. How long do I have to register the car here in Spain?

2. What's the process and the cost for so doing?

3. Can I insure the car in Spain before registering it?

4. Does the car - which I don't now intend to take back to the UK - have to have valid MOT and tax for registration in Spain?
