Title: Eagles? Post by Hen_Fox on Jul 2nd, 2012 at 8:51am
As we were driving along the track from the dry canal to Ravel de Crist we saw what we thought were several eagles in the sky and on Saturday one was swooping low over the car (perhaps he thought mint green Kangoos' were edible) so can any bird spotters out there tell us what sort of eagles they are? :)

There are several types of eagles that can be seen locally.
To name a few; Booted Eagle, Bonelli's Eagle and Short toed Eagle. There used to be Golden Eagle aswell. Plus you can see Vultures, Black Kites etc. |

We have seen Hen Harriers several times in the same area, they buzzed our car several times. Could also have been Short Toed Eagles.

Thanks for the info. Next time I shall try and pick out some identifying features although whether I will be able to recognise short toes remains to be seen. We have also seen a lesser spotted Nigel on that road, which I believe are quite rare! ;D
