Title: Medical help/advice.
Post by DenGeo on Jan 26th, 2013 at 2:44am
Having just recently taken out insurance with Sanitas can anyone tell me where I can see a G.P. speaking English without having to travel to Tarragona or Barcellona.  I don't mind going over to Tortosa as I live in Deltebre.

I have the "in network" doctors for Sanitas in a PDF file so I can send it to you in an email if you like; just send me your email address or reply to this post.

Forgot to mention his office is in a building with lots of other doctors (maybe 30). He speaks English but the secretaries don’t. If you need an appointment, it is probably best to go in-person if your Spanish/Catalan is not so good.

Being with Sanitas (they are great) I would suggest phoning them first about an appointment. They own a private hospital in Tarragona; so, if you are covered for something “diagnostic” like a heart stress test, breast or testicular exam and go to the GP in Tortosa first he will then get you an appointment in Tarragona with the specialist at the private hospital. If you ring Sanitas first, they will do all the appointments for you and if it involves multiple tests it will be arranged one after the other for the same day.

Could you give me some idea of what a Sanitas cover plan costs? :)

I pay €48 per month. There is an additional 4% discount if you pay yearly and a 2% discount for bi-annually.

I'm 41 so I am not sure if your rate will change depending on your age.
