Some friends have told me they have received hugely increased rate demands backdated for 4 years. In one case a demand for over €3000. Anyone have more info on this? The individuals concerned have campo houses in l'Ametlla and Perello with no recent enhancements.

Seems that if people havn't been paying any, Base back date and charge for 4 years at an increased rate.
So more like urban prices and not campo?

When I applied for Cedula,they backdated my rates for 4 years at the rate I should have been paying,if it had a Cedula from day one.
Cataloonians are experts at screwing people into the ground,especially Extranjerous !
How are they still getting away with this ?

That is what it sounds like to me too.

Mmm, so if you're not intending to sell then why get a cedula and help them get to you and charge you inflated rates ?

As stated in a previous post, a cedula may be needed for many reasons and not just selling a property.
Empandrament, and Cat Salut.
Also, if for instance you require electricity supply to your property or if your electricity supply is cut, you may be asked for a cedula to have a supply re connected.
