Does anyone know if it is possible to get permission to build a small wood house/ cabin in the Campo in Catalonia ?  :)

There are some wooden houses in this area, which
are ready built ones, had permissions, but have to be de mountable?
Not that all of them are! Had and paid fines!

Thanks Rita, Do you know does the payment of fines mean that they were put in place without permission and the fines were paid later?  :)

Seems to have been the case.
Was a few years ago.

We looked into this and were advised a few months ago by an architect in Mora that he could prepare the case to request permission to have one on the campo but under no circumstances would it be legal to live in it. It could only be used for storage - i.e an almacene. If you lived in it the planning permission wouid be nullified and revoked. We have one about 200 yards from us and it seems to be used as an almacene only!

Be careful.

John

Speaking to the locals it seems if its built off the ground (i;e suspended on legs of some description) you can build, dont quote me on this as ive no idea if its true??

As far as I know you have to get permission, and it has to be de mountable.
Please see previous posts, on this subject.

Rita's right, you have to get permission to build or re-build (increase) any building that you want to live in.  You are even required to get permission for an almacen in certain areas.  Your local ajuntament should be able to help.

Don't take things for granted here.
Check things out properly before throwing money at anything.
Rules and regulations change, which seems to be on a regular basis here.

Yep, our local adjuntament are very helpful.   :)

Of course as Rita says rules and regulations change frequently and the info doesn't always filter through.  One of the building regs changed (something to do with declaring individual room sizes) whilst we were in the middle of constructing our house and it was applied retrospectively, even our (very good) architect was taken by surprise and we had to re-submit plans.  Didn't cost anything except time luckily.  ::)

If you want I can build a wooden house. Write the dimensions and it will be just like the Lodge to visit for the weekend or for permanent residence. Since there is a big difference in warming and price. build365es@gmail.com

I am sure that you are capable of building a wooden house, and so are a lot of other companies and people who live in this area.
But, there are rules and regulations, regarding building anything here, whether it's wooden, brick, stone etc.
People would be foolish to think that 'you can do what you want' in Spain.

If your land is closed or there is a private place away from the road, the special problems may not be. Wooden house can amount to a mobile home as a caravan, unless of course it is not very large :o And should stand on poles and not at ground level, then problems with legalization will be less and it will be discussed on another. Such houses in Spain are now very much because permission to get at it easier.

You still cannot just put up something permanent without at least notifying your local adjuntament .  It would be foolish to spend any money you cannot afford to lose if you did.
