Dear Rita,
Thank you for your very interesting piece on insect plagues but I am afraid a little late. Here at the shack the problem started a while ago with the little blighters. My anti insect defense plan in place and armed with every chemical and biological spray and fly crusher plus repellant, I strutted my stuff around the old shack, spraying and crushing and causing death and mayhem among all the invading beasties. I was really enjoying myself and shouting I'll be back. At this point her indoors appeared as if by magic. She said YOU OUTSIDE NOW. Dressed in Jesus bovver boots, oversized three quarter length shorts, string vest and knotted hanky on head I was man handled to our old out of use Balsa in the corner and a pan and brush plus bucket was thrust into my hands. With my usual blank expression I found myself flying through the air into the smelly Balsa, I picked myself up not looking as much a terminator as I had been before going in and the voice said save the baby frogs and don't stand on any. Frogs are very stupid creatures and didn't seem to understand that I was thier saviour 2 hours later with a  pond and garden full of baby frogs her indoors sipping orange juice said you will be happy you have done this next year. Under my breath I screamed I didn't Know frogs did beasty killings in the house. Give me a spray anytime!!!!!
Yours insect killing, frog saving, Bulldog.
