It is difficult to say how much wood pellet fuel you will use, but if you use one of our smaller wood pellet stoves, a 15kg bag of pellets may last for about three days. If you were using a wood pellet stove to heat a reasonably well insulated British three bedroom semi-detached house you would probably use 1.5 tonnes of wood pellets over the whole of the winter months.

Wood pellets are generally better bought ready bagged. Most companies supply 10 or 15kg bags, which are a managable size.

Pellets bought in a Tonne bag need to be kept in a very dry area, as the pellets have a low moisture content and will absorb moisture from the open air.

The wood pellet fuel costs £4.75 per 15kg bag inc VAT @5% (0.25p per kilo) although this price would fall for deliveries of 1 tonne or more. Price comparisons with gas for example are favourable and becoming more so. The price of wood pellets can fluctuate but looks set to fall rather than rise in the near future.

Bought as a pallet of 66 bags (around 1000kg)
this works out at £300 ex-works.(inc VAT at 5%)
Delivery varies with distance from us in Manchester but starts at £55 per 1 tonne pallet.

The Artel ls6 average usage is about 1kg per hr

The Artel ls8 average usage is about 1.2 kg per hr

The Artel ls12 average usage is about 1.6 kg per hr

The Artel lst14 average usage is about 1.8 kg per hr

Taken from a UK site (Pellets are more expensive there.)

The end honest.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It would be nice if anyone who has one of these to give us a run down of costings, Etc
