Rita ,there are more than enough European people here in the UK, claiming UK  benefits and going back to there countries with there new found free wealth ,and also using the abused NHS for there  free health care ,so I hardly think that if you worked all your life in the UK and paid your way, how it can be wrong to claim a UK benefit, whilst living abroad in your twilight years.
By the way I have never claimed a damn penny from the state, but paid out all my working life. >:(
