they sell bread makers here but I've never seen the yeast needed. Any pointers please.

You can get belbake dried yeast in Lidl it comes in a 6 sachet pack each holding 7 grams. You can also get fresh yeast from most bakers.They will sell it you just ask them for LEVADURA you can buy it by the gram.

You can buy fresh yeast from Simply and Mercadona, in Tortosa.
Look in the cold counters, for little square packets of it.

Dried yeast for using in breadmakers is also available in Hyper Simply.  Be careful when asking for levadura as they also use this term for baking powder.

Dried yeast and fresh yeast require two periods of proving.  Rapid or QA yeast is processed specially for breadmakers.  I´m looking for the brand Dove in small red packs sufficient for 30+ loaves.

We use both the dried and fresh yeast with equal results. As mentioned in previous posts, you can find both products in most of the local supermarkets.
