Best when you find a suppplier, to check on kind of wood they are supplying.
Olive wood is the best.
Often you will be sold fir, that will soot up the chimney and flue quickly, also carob, lemon or orange wood.

Almond is even better.  Other woods shouldn't cause too much problem if you keep the fire burning hot.
There's a supplier just outside Uldecona (on the right just before the roundabout) but I'd suggest you get cracking before supplies get low and the price goes up.

A rough location is needed so someone local can supply or suggest somewhere.

Here is a number for a wood supplier in the Tortosa area. 667646540  They don't speak English but they normally have a good price and its normally olive wood.

There is an advert in the local Ebre paper for olive  wood for sale.Delivered in 48 hours and no delivery charges the website is
www.olivosmontemayor.com.Not sure how the prices compare with local ones. I know I was charged 25€ for delivery the last load I had.

Hi.
Did anyone come up with a supplier of logs in the Tortosa area? I have some elderly friends nr Roquettes/ Mont Caro, and it would be great if someone knew a log supplier in their vicinity. As things stand now I actually deliver wood to them but I have to bring logs from Gandesa, which is a bit of a haul really.
It's not fair on them for me to charge for my fuel for the round trip of around 70 miles if they have a supplier nearer.
Please let me know by texting me on 653516183, preferably with the contact info for log supplier and, if poss, price per kilo delivered. Thanks very much. ;)

I bought half a field worth of logs when our next door orange grove was ripped up. I was very lucky as only had to pay 50 a load so bought 8 loads.  And they have had the summer to settle before starting to burn them. The guy rang me several times after when he was working on other fields. Ill try to give him a ring in the next few days and see if he delivers up Tortosa way. Im in L'Aldea but I believe he works all over the area.

We arrive in Riumar next week & need wood, hopefully olive.  The supplier near L'Aldea would suit I think, more information please?

We get our wood from this chap and his good lady. I passed his Casa this morning and his store in the front of the house is empty. He will be getting wood in soon.He is not cheap we paid two weeks ago £150 Euro for a big trailer full delivered. But the wood is dry and ready for use.

What does a "big trailer load" or 'lorry load' represent in cube metres? In wood terms I think that a STERE is the term used for a cube metre.
