High temperatures along with strong winds, not good for the plants in our gardens.
Some normal rainfall would be welcome.

Yes expect Normal rainfall in October.
But if we get rain with thunderstorm as predicted now, then it could be torrential. Who knows?

About 12.20pm today something tragic has happened on the N340 near Camarles it's all blocked off and I have never seen so many fire engines and plod. ( Even the 4x4 vehicles with the top brass were powering along towards that area from Tortosa) I often wonder about firemen and that pole and hole in the floor. I mean why can't they play cards and snooker on the ground floor and then stroll to their appliances ?   8-) 8-) 8-)

Hi Bunter
It did get very windy last night, but it was even windier this afternoon. Calming down now. Hopefully tomorrow I can replant the 50 + sweetcorn that are all flattened.

Not as high as you, Jack, but has completly flattened all of my beans - sweetcorn flat, and a bed of courgettes and tomatoes has nothing on it at all. Almost as though I had not planted anything there.

Fortunately have some back up seedlings to put in, but just in time for the wind to return on Thursday.

Does anyone have an idea of a windbreak that actually works...
