Remember you now need a code to be given to the car hire company The code has 
a 21 day shelf life from getting the code from the dvla and traveling to your holiday location and presenting it to the hire company.Some will not hire to you without the code which gives access to your driving records and the dvla hope it will stop banned drivers using duplicate licences etc.
