Title: Smelly Cisternas
Post by Paula on Jun 11th, 2016 at 3:14pm
We have a slight issue with a slightly smell cisterna -  we suspect it's from pollen etc. However as we will be letting the house from the end of the month we are concerned it might impact on the guests.

We thought to put a filter system in & have been told of one in Leroy Merlin, any thoughts or ideas?

Cheapest way and may solve the problem is to add bleach. Buy the stuff suitable for drinking water purification
One make on sale is Conejo. Dilute 16 drops to ten litres.
It says 16 gotas so what is a gota  ?
Hope that helps

A gota is a drop, una gota. Examples, gotas de lluvia - rain drops, gotas para ojos - eye drops.

There is also a saying when just a few drops of rain have fallen - 'Ni ha caido cuatro gotas' - barely 4 drops have fallen.

Also another saying when you only want a small amount of wine is 'Dame una gota de vino' or alternatively, 'Un dedo de vino' - a finger (thickness) of wine.

That's lovely, Nigel.

How about a few more snippets of local sayings, I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds these fascinating!

Or even Catalan/Spanish "tips" on way of life. Would be illuminating to hear how the locals live.

Cheers,
Simon

It appears that some posts have dissapeared from this topic, including one from me.
Someone mentioned using the sachets, called W.C. Net.
I answered saying that they can be found in most supermarkets on the shelves selling toilet/ cleaning products.

The posts are still there in another thread, I asked two questions in two posts :) didn't want to confuse drinking with flushing:-)

Conejo - possible mercadona but could be Sabeco (Simply). Just check the label first
