Yes, its good news for us to have a bigger D.I.Y shop in the area.
Local businesses not happy, though

Really handy as it is situated, like you say across the road from the petrol station and brickworks.
Near the big new police station, and where SB are going to build new apartments.
It is part of Leroy Merlin. Save us a long journey to go there anymore.

In my opinion, all these huge stores full of mostly inferior Chinese junk are totally unnecessary.
Ok it's handy to wander around and pick and choose, but is that just for lazy people?
The more stuff you buy in stores, the more small local businesses close and the more small local manufacturers shut down.
Everything is already available in the  shops in Tortosa. >:(
Like I said, that's my opinion....

Well Jack, I can see your point but !!! I will still use Mayors for most building stuff , last year I wanted a metal exterior door it was over 30 euros dearer at mayors, so was worth the trip up to Tarragonna, also I,m hoping they might open on Sundays and Saturday afternoons ,and there not like the China shops( which I also use ) they sell the same materials as do other builder merchants, so I cannot see the harm in competition at all .I always stop at Aki on my way back up to Barcelona ,its become a sad tradition of mine , or is it a fetish LOL!!! ;D
