Title: Electricity Connection cost estimate
Post by Farway on Feb 26th, 2017 at 10:55pm
Hallo.
I am weighing up the cost of getting electricity connected from  HV pilons  about 1.5km down the road or to go down the battery/generator route...
Has anybody been given any estimates of cost for something similar?
Thanks :)

Expensive and complicated! At that distance you would be better off with Solar.
As a rough guide:

If there isn't a transformer on the line then look at 10,000 euros to put one on. If there is then it may belong to your neighbours so you could buy a share.

You'll need a post approx. every 100 meters, 1500 euros per post.

You need permission from anyone whose land it will cross.

You'll need a project from either Fecsa or an approved contractor for the supply.

A good solar system with generator will cost a lot less.
