Due to a series of break ins we had to turn the our water supply of. When we requested to have it reconnected we had to produce a document signed by the architect who checked out the property, unfortunately we never received the document, we have been unable to trace the architect, who was a lady named Suzanne.  Any advice welcome, we need the document to have water supply connected.

Where are you based? In Tortosa you just need to go to Aiguas de Tortosa and request a connection. They send someone to inspect the installation - don't worry about that, a single tap connected is sufficient. They then inform you of the result and you go with all documents, pay 135 euros and they connect you.

The biggest problem (certainly in Tortosa) may be the situation of the water meter.

If you can't find the document maybe just go to the local water company and request a new contract.
