Title: Burglary from Campo near Rasquera
Post by ptaylor_uk on Jul 20th, 2017 at 7:16pm
Hi all,

We were burgled by some unscrupulous scumbag(s) on the first night of our holiday on Tuesday night between 9 and midnight!

We literally got here, dumped our stuff and went out for dinner! We came home to find our security doors wide open and the house had been literally ransacked and anything of any value had been taken.

A list of stuff taken:
Petrol Lawn Mower
Cordless Bosch Drill in box with various other tools
White Folding Garden Table
2 padded garden chairs (1 green, 1 red)
Retractable Ladder
Garden Sheers & Loppers
Power Inverter
Garden shading Material - still in packet
Purple Suitcase (with clothes)
Purple Child's backpack - from her school 'Kings College School'
A Targus Laptop bag
Lenovo netbook
Go Pro Camera
Windows mobile phone (in pink case)
Samsung Portable Hard Drive

We are absolutely devastated by this (especially our kids) as you can all expect and although we don't hold up much hope for the return of anything I thought I'd post on here.....just in case. 😳

Thanks for reading.

Paul

Sorry to hear this Paul,
Not sure how long you are over for so if there is anything that you need to beg/borrow to avoid your holiday being a total washout let the forum know. I'm not sure how old your daughter is but I'm guessing primary school so my daughter's hand-me-downs are probably a bit big as a stop-gap measure.

It's a lousy thing to happen and so infuriating. We were robbed last year and the police said as my military wrist watch was so distictive with engravings they were very hopeful, still no sign of anything taken.
God help the next one that tries it if I catch them.
We wish you a good holiday and good luck with the police.

Thanks for kind words and offers of help! 😀

Our children will survive with the clothes that were left, however in the process of ransacking our house the scumbags seem to have broken our gas fridge, does anybody know of anyone selling one or anywhere we could pick up a second hand one?!

Do they have such things as second hand shops here? We would also love to get some bikes for the kids to use on the land.

Thanks

Paul

Very sorry to hear.
Sadly, the same happened to us, dropped our bags off and went to Mercadona. Got back to find the bags and other stuff gone including my friends passport.
Went into town to denounce and when we got back they had been again! Got the garage doors open and a lot of tools gone.
We fitted a mobile phone calling alarm system and have peace of mind and no problems since.

Passeig de Jaume I - diagonally across from the police station in Tortosa has a second hand shop whose name now escapes me with bikes and white goods.  The Segonda Volta in Raval de Crist might be of use.

Four other second hand shops worth checking - just in case they've tried to sell your stuff there...

Ken and Bevs, in the old Spar shop near the post office in Mora d'ebre.
The second hand shop opposite esclat in Mora la Nova
The big second hand shop on the N340 in Vinaross.
The la segonavolta second hand shop in Ravel de Christo near tortosa.

Good luck and hope you recover your stuff.
john.

Fencing should be a problem for these shops as they are obliged to see NIF etc from anyone who sells them items.
