Title: TV package/fire stick
Post by Draconill on Dec 3rd, 2018 at 3:16pm
Can anyone clarify this for me, an advert for a UK/world TV service was placed on a local website, which I was considering . Someone else commented that you could get the same channels by buying a hacked fire stick (I think they're called jailbreak firesticks) If this is the case why does anyone pay a subscription? I'm probably being a bit dim but can anyone explain this to me before I decide what to do, thanks in advance.....

I had " a friend " that used one, worked fine for a few months but then started having problems with blocked channels, used without VPN. "My friend" believes that a VPN will be needed now to get reception, also apps will need to be regularly updated.

You will need a good download speed from your provider. Naturally they are not legal.

Thanks, my understanding from the link above is that they are legal but leave you in danger of watching illegal content for which you could be prosecuted, hence the need for a VPN

Ive got a friend who uses an app called apps2 fire. He downloaded it onto his android phone and then he can transfer apps from his phone to his firestick. He tells me that kodi and show box are the best but there is another that turns the remote into a mouse. Cant remember what its called bit he said its easy to find on google.
My friend is lucky he has a good internet supply so buffering is rare.
He uses iplayer a lot and for that you do need a vpn. As with the ITV and channel 4 and 5 catchups.
Now if only i could remember my friends name.😀😀
