Nigel,
Can you do me a favour? Will you allow me to copy those pics of the Catfish to put on my Digital Camera Club website? It would be of great interest to some around here.  Grin
Best wishes,
Nige

Well... they are pretty much in the public domain now - they aren't mine (just do a search for record catfish ebro) so I guess so...

How for inland do the sea bass run and can the fish be eaten if they are from the river, also what is the situation on trapping eels and crayfish and are they fit for human consumption,I had heard the river was a bit polluted...??

The record keeps going up. The latest record is 226lb from the 24th November. The report stated:

British fisherman Carl Smith (pictured with friend, Dave Jones) caught a giant wels catfish, dubbed "Jaws," measuring 8 ft in length and weighing a record-breaking 226 lbs. Two friends held tightly onto Smith as he battled the monster fish for 35 minutes. After Jaws was weighed, measured and photographed, he was released back into the River Ebro in Spain.

So it's still about, will still be feeding and will grow bigger!  Tight lines!
