A good days fishing

Just been fishing this afternoon - we had a good day, Andy was first with about a 70lb fish, I then got my personal best of around 95lb (I've only caught 3 fish so far!) and then, just to outdo me, Andy finished the day off with a 125lb fish.

For the 5th March we were pretty happy with that result!

Btw; Andy runs Ebro Catfishing Excursions http://www.ebrocatfishexcursions.com

Humm - a Catfishing business - now that's a novel idea Smiley

Not me!  I'm happy just being taken out by people who know what they're doing and learning from their experience.

Fishy, surprisingly.....  Wink

I had it in a Louisiana Jumbalaya from Ye Olde Tescos.

East Europeans are eating them and the one I observed was alive several hours later....however, you would have to be mad to eat one from here, in the food chain they are top level predators. All the poisons and toxins accumulated in the prey fish are going to end up getting concentrated in the catfish.

Sadly for the local Catfish, it was the eastern European ....the Catfish itself was a little bit too cooked and chewed to be properly described as "alive"

Just to let you know Roswell that there are no poisonous fish in the Ebro, just cyprinids and a few Zander & Blackbass. The only fish in the river which can go anywhere near to poisoning you is the American Channel Catfish, it has a tiny amount in its spikey dorsal fin but Wels catfish don't eat these due to this.

Not being a smart arse, just know abit about the Ebro and its inhabitants.

If it is the American Catfish that I'm thinking about, they taste like a cross between Salmon and Cod.

AmIBovvered,
I am not saying they are naturally poisonous, just with all the 800km of crap, Nuclear Power Stations, Pesticides, Herbicides and even the occasional run off from one of my rare showers....I would not eat a thing from this river.    Wink

Trout tend to live higher up rivers where the water is clean, I would happily eat one from La Senia, but not here. Salmon live in the sea most of the time, I have never heard tell if any pass us here, but quite a few of the rivers on the North Atlantic coast in Cantabria and Galicia do host Salmon.

I once kept an Eastern European alive for 4 days but my brother pulled his arms & legs off and then my mother flushed him down the toilet. Cry
