Does anybody know where I can go flyfishing for trout without having to head for the Pyrenees?

Flyfishing for anything else might be interesting.

La Senia, the lake itself and the stream below. Communitat de Valencia permit, I think I read somewhere there is a lake full of them down near Vinaros also.

Fishing licences for lakes at la Senia can be obtained locally in the Prop Offices in Vinaros on the corner of La Muralla & San Joaquin streets.

Also I have seen fly fishing and spinning being done on Caspe II which is close to Alcaniz.  I believe that the lake holds both trout and Black Bass as well as a stack of carp.
Licence is and Aragon licence which can be obtained in Government offices in Fraga.

Hi ColinB, if you do happen to get licence and go fly fishing some time soon, I would be very interested in how you get on, tight line and good luck.

Well I'm off to Scotland and the Lake District. Fishing's free in a lot of the lakes and the trout are plentiful in Scotland. Strange thing is it's (much) cheaper to buy a new rod in the UK than take mine with me on the aeropane.

Same with car seats for kids - cheaper to buy them new at Halfords than rent them from the carHireCo.

Yup, I promise the feedback...but 2 questions remain.  The lakes at La Senia..Do we mean the resevoir and downflowing river?  I ask cos I remember seeing signs refering to trout fishing on the river near a small rest'ant/bar a longish way before you get to the Ulldecona resevoir.  And Dos...can I get a license at the Ulldecona resevoir bar where you can hire rowboats and pedeloes?

Sorry, I never answered you.  Plan to do this in the spring, sussing out licenses from Castellon at the moment.  Has anyone looked in at the resevoir recently?  Anything stirring in the gloom?
