sky system installer wanted

hi we have a sky system but our dish and lnb have gone kaput, but the digibox is fine can anyone recomend anyone that could install a new dish for us any any ideas on prices would be great.
we are inbetween ginestar an d mora la nova.

Hi

May be slightly off topic ....

but have a spare LNB and a choice of two stndard Sky boxes if you need any ... no dish though ... wind got my spare last year .... now using bigger bolts and cables ...

Box is 40€ if it helps

Hi,

I can install one for you tomorrow (monday) if you wish. I have to go to Riba Roja to align a dish there so will be passing you.
Do you know what size dish you want? I have a couple of different ones here. Small dishes do suffer with channel loss in the evenings and when there is rain so a larger dish is recommended but obviously costs more.

Hello All,
           Thinking of moving up in the world and installing a sat dish.Some people we know reckon they have had one fitted to the side of a 1st floor apt in L'ampolla and they bring out their sky box from Ireland each visit and hey presto they can watch the News etc just like at home!! Can anyone back this up for a casa in the Coll and also are the d.i.y sat kits from Carrefour any good or should I go elsewhere or just buy a 1.2mtr dish and bring out my sky box.Also how much do the dishes cost.

..well it depends..
The kits from Carrefour are ok ish if you're only here occasionally and aren't too worried if you lose your tv in the evenings in the winter or when it is raining.
The Astra footprint suggests a dish size of 1.5M for here but I successfully install 1.2M dishes which are good for at least 95% of the time.

The smaller the dish the more susceptible you are to adverse weather affecting the signal - simple as that.

As for the receivers, you'll get all the BBC, ITV, C4, C5, More 4, Film 4 etc. etc. programmes.  You only need to bring a Sky box if you have the likes of Movies and Sports and REALLY can't live without them.

In terms of aligning, it can be fiddly - there are a couple of satellites close by and it's easy to get the wrong one.  I have, on several occasions, been asked to align dishes for people who have spent many unsuccessful hours trying to get a signal.
