The Ministry of the Interior has issued a reminder that users of mobile phones with prepago (pre-paid) cards bought before November 2007, must be registered by November 8th this year. The reminder comes because, although the law came into effect in November last year only 3 million such users, of a total in Spain of 15 million, have been registered thus far. If the phone is not registered in time, the line will be cut off altogether. Here’s what you do:>

Take your NIE, passport or Residencia card/papers to a shop or counter dealing with your supplier (Movista, Vodafone, Orange or any other – or look for the sign that illustrates this item) and ask to be registered. That’s it, but remember to do it.
